Act I: Why You Shouldn't Write Your Book As A Song
Few songs have had such an impact on me as suddenly and without apparent reason as this one.
When I was a kid I never listened to bands with female vocals. I wanted something that expressed hatred, badassery, not a soft beautiful voice.
Then I grew up a bit, nowadays there are only two bands with female vocals I listen to, but am I glad I found this one. Gåte is to this day one of my favorite bands both for their traditional songs and originals. I have yet to see better work with harmony and storytelling - yes, I've just put them above Porcupine Tree. So today we're going to take a look at: Knut Liten og Sylvelin
Let's dive into the crazy stories of the underground New York indie band that couldn't decide on a music style.
As a bit of a fan of the Amory Wars stories and Shabutie, this piece of uninspired shit overshadows the success of the last (two) album(s). So let's take a closer look and prove that trying to be edgy on your lyrics is a stupid move.
Blind Melon's debut album, with the most innocent looking cover and 3 great hits, doesn't have a single melody in it I don't like. I could listen to this album for days.
Despite the attention to vocals, Blind Melon strays away from the grunge basic style and structure with more complex rhythms and the nice and slow acoustic guitar feel. And the lyrics are actually pretty damn good! Deadboy and The Elephant Men - If This is Hell Then I'm Lucky
A very "gloomy" sounding album with many great songs and very focused on vocals.
Its darkness makes most songs sound a bit similar, but doesn't take anything away from the compositions. I'd recommend listening to High Monster last, Barefoot in The Dark first and not listening to Heart of Green at all. Considering I don't have all the time in the world to write about every single band I'd like to, here's a few channels of people who know more than me that I think everyone who enjoys music should check out. FrankJavCeeThis channel has the best music tutorials on youtube. I'm serious. The Needle DropThis guy isn't perfect, there are many details he leaves out and he likes punk, but he's passionate about music in general.
